My grandmother taught me how to hem my pants when I was in my early 20s. I was gifted my first sewing machine shortly after and dove headfirst into sewing with a few paper patterns. I fumbled my way through much of my early sewing, being mostly self taught. I had no idea what I was doing and didn’t have anyone to help as my grandmother really only knew how to hem pants. Frustrated, I gave up sewing for a few years until I discovered PDF patterns and have been sewing ever since! I especially love working with knits but will still sew with wovens from time to time.
