Summer is almost here and we are so excited! We have a few trips planned and the kids can’t wait to go to the beach. Our car doesn’t have a tv so we’ve used portable DVD players for long trips. However, we have gone through 3 of them as they break so easily! We didn’t want to buy another one for this summer so my mom gave us her old iPad to use on trips. The screen is already cracked so we don’t have to worry about the kids breaking it so much!
Our old DVD player holder did not fit the iPad so I decided to make one for watching movies on our summer trips!
I searched Pinterest and found a super easy and quick tutorial here. I’m happy to say it was a quick and easy project, and didn’t take more than 45 minutes.
All supplies were what I had in my stash, and it feels good to be slowly using up what I have. I got the cardboard from an Amazon box we had laying around, since we always have at least one around. We tested this holder on a recent trip and worked fantastic for all 7+ hours each way!

I do have to angle the iPad a little so both kids can see but I didn’t want to make a holder that went in-between the front headrests because it would block access to the drinks and snack bag ;).
This is a great and simple solution for summer road trips and will save you some money from buying an iPad holder!
