Are you like me and have a hard time finding shorts that fit? If it fits in the waist then it’s too tight at the hips and vice versa. I finally found a perfect fitting pair from Old Navy a few years ago but they are a little too small for me now (let’s pretend they shrunk ;)). Old Navy no longer makes those exact shorts and shopping for a new pair has been a disaster.
I made one pair of shorts last year and I love how they fit! It’s time for me to try some other patterns this time around so I’ve put together a list of patterns I have my eye on.

Chi-Town Chinos: This pattern is closest to my beloved Old Navy shorts. I’ve had my eye on this pattern for over 2 years! A mid-rise short with skirt option.

Linden Shorts: Another pattern I’ve had my eye on for a long time. I love all the options this has. It includes both jean and chino styles, elastic waist band option, and the option to be sewn in knit.

Taylor Shorts: A low rise chino short and skirt.

Century High Waisted Paperbag Shorts: This is the pattern I made last year and I love how it turned out!

Linen Loungers: Relaxed fit shorts, perfect in linen or other breathable fabrics to keep you cool while you lounge or chase the kids around the yard.

Summer Caye Pants: To be honest, wide legged pants aren’t my thing but I like the looks of the shorts in the pattern. It has a flat front and elastic back so it’s comfortable to wear. The short lengths are 6″ and 9″ but I prefer mine 4″ or 5″.
