I am so in love with both the August box and upcoming September box and I can’t wait to show you all the goodies below!

The August box included a print pattern of the Biscayne Blouse by Hey June and either a green print or floral rayon challis. I love both the fabrics and they easy to sew and so soft to wear! I was so excited to sew the pattern because I love this style of shirt in ready to wear. While it’s not a difficult pattern, it was time consuming and I am very proud of all my work after making it, despite the flaws! For more details on my review of this pattern, check out last month’s sneak peak post of the pattern.

Look at these labels! How cute are they?! These were included with the box as well the interfacing, buttons, some extra fabric clips, and coordinating thread needed to make the blouse.
The mini project for August was a pin pendant to display all your cute enamel pins. I have a few pins but never had a place to display them and I think this is such a cute idea! All the fabric and supplies to make it were sent in the box including Art Gallery fabric from Mr. Domestic’s Catch & Release Collection. The lovely team at the Sewciety also sent me an extra cut of the fish fabric and I love it! One of my husband’s favorite hobbies is fishing and I’d love to make something out of it for him.

I’m not going to lie, when I saw the canvas fabric packing for the mini project I got really excited thinking were making shoes! Oh well, maybe next time? (hint, hint Sewciety team ;)) It’s all good because the project is a quick and easy make! I also added some heat transfer vinyl I cut with my silhouette machine to give it some extra flair.

I tried my best at the mitered corners, watched several YouTube videos and nothing was making sense to me. I eventually gave up and just finished the corners the best I could! I don’t think it look too terrible but I will have to try mitered corners another time.
Now for the sneak peak!
The Sewciety must have read my mind for their upcoming September box because it’s exactly what I needed! The main project is leggings and contains lovely (squat proof!) supplex to make them.

The Taylor leggings from Laela Jane Patterns come in 3 different lengths: knee, cropped, and ankle. There is even a maternity waistband option! I made the high waisted, ankle length version and I love the fit! I forgot to grade out for my big calves, so they are a little tight there, but even despite that they fit so much better than store bought leggings!

I was worried about stripe matching with the pocket view and just decided to make view A and I love how quick they came together! It was a welcome break after completing the Bisycane Blouse from last month.
I hope to be getting a coverstitch soon and plan on making the view with the pockets so I can do some decorative stitching on the seams!
