The Sewciety sent me a little sneak peak of the main project that will be featured in their July Box. I was so happy when I received it because I love this pattern!
I received 2 yards of Art Gallery woven, along with the Meadow Skirt pattern From Twig + Tale, which is the main project for July’s box. This was my first pattern from this company and I was very impressed with them. Not only do they have detailed written instructions and pictures, the also have videos for each step! I wish patterns like these had been around when I started sewing, I could have avoided SO many headaches.

The Meadow Skirt has a lot of different options including a button front, front bow, back bow, pleated front, and gathered front. Since I love a good pleat, I chose to sew the pleated front version with the slim back. The fabric doesn’t have much drape, so I was worried the full back might not be very flattering.
The pattern was a simple sew, with the elastics being the hardest part for me. My safety pins kept coming unpinned either while I was threading the elastic through or right after I had finished. I took me 3 or 4 times, but I finally got it! Maybe I need some new safety pins–ha!

I love how the skirt came out and want to make several more versions! I want to make the button front version as well as a pleated skirt with a front bow.
I know I gave you all a peak into the June Box before, but if you’re curious as to what is really in each box, check out the unboxing below!

I received some super soft floral rayon spandex. This fabric is great breathable fabric for summer. I made this into the tank dress version of the Boho Top from Patterns for Pirates and it is so comfortable! Matching thread was also included. The little thing on top of the thread is a bobbin buddy that keeps your bobbin and matching thread together. I had no idea such a thing even existed before until I got one in a Sewciety box. They definitely cut down the time I spend trying to find matching bobbing thread!

The mini project for June was a strawberry pincushion. The strawberry is filled with crushed walnut shells which help keep your pins sharp. My daughter thought it was really cute and swiped it as soon as I finished it.
The box also included some cute extras: Maureen Cracknell Art Gallery fabric from her Mystical Land collection, a water soluble fabric pen, and a holographic sewing luggage tag.

The July box will ship out later this month, you can order yours here. I can’t wait to see what is in next month’s box!
