Last week I posted over 15 Easter projects ideas. If you’re still looking for more, I have a great quick project for you! This cute bunny bag comes together easily and is great for using scraps.
Materials Needs:
- Main fabric: 2 – 11″ x 12″
- Coordinating fabric: 2- 11″ x 4.5″
- Fabric for bunny ears : 4 pieces
- Pom poms for tail
- Hot glue
- 3 yards of ribbon: 2- 1.5 yard pieces (you can use a few inches shorter on each piece if making for someone 5 and under!)

To make the ears, simply draw the ear shape you’d like on paper to use as a pattern. The bottom of the ear needs to be at least 2″ wide to allow for room for turning once its sewn. Cut out 4 pieces.

Place two ear pieces right sides together. Use a 1/4″ seam allowance to sew together, leaving the bottom of the ear open. Clip the point and turn out through bottom opening. Repeat for remaining ear.

Place the each ear 3″ in from each side of one 11″ x 12″ piece. Pin one 11″ x 4.5″ piece top of the ears, wrong sides together, sandwiching the ears in between the two fabric pieces. Sew, press, and topstitch. Take the remaining, place them right sides together along the 11″ side. Sew along the 11″ side. Press the seam and top stitch.

Fold down the top 1/2″ and then fold under another 1/2″. Press and stitch, leaving the ends open. Repeat for the other piece. This will be the casing for the ribbon.

I forgot to sew the casings on this step and had to do it after I sewed the bag together, so just pretend the casings are sewn in the pictures below :).
With right sides together, sew the two pieces together, stopping below the casing opening. Trim the seam allowance with pinking shears.

Take one ribbon and thread it through one side and all the way around until it comes out where you started. Repeat with other side.
Now you need to create an opening to sew the ribbon in. Use a seam ripper to make an opening on the side seams, near the bottom, to slide the ribbon ends through. Sew.

All that’s left is to hot glue the pom pom on! That’s it–you’re done!

Enjoy your cute little bunny bag! I’d love to see your bunny bag makes. You can share them on my Facebook group page or tag me on Instagram.
