As you may remember from my favorite things post, I was hoping to get a subscription to The Sewciety. Well, my husband came through and gifted me a three month subscription! I love getting fabric mail and the surprise of whats inside. I’m so excited to share my first box with you!
The box contained everything needed to complete one main project and one mini project along with other little goodies.

The main project was the Dolman Sleeve Tunic Top by Gina Renee Designs. It came with a printed copy of the pattern, 2 yards of lovely floral green french terry, matching thread, and elastic. The mini project was four coasters and two mug rugs. Four Leah Duncan fabric squares and interfacing were included to make them.
The other goodies included were: a bobbin buddy, “That Purple Thang” for turning corners, a cute Sewciety pin, thread peel, magnetic pic cushion, a tote with a Leah Duncan print and some ADORABLE rainbow unicorn scissors!

I didn’t get a picture of the cute box it came in because the box arrived while we were visiting family for Christmas. The delivery person didn’t put it near our door, so it sat in the rain for few days. The box smelled awful from sitting in the rain so I threw it away right after opening it, which is unfortunate because it’s the prefect place to store the projects until you complete them!
The tunic was the first pattern I’ve made from Gina Renee Designs. I found the pattern and instructions easy to follow but did find one mistake that could be confusing for beginners. The pattern calls for 10 inches of elastic but never states that you are supposed to use 5 inches on each side of the top.

The fit of the tunic is a relaxed fit in the top and sleeves with a fitted band aroud the hips. I’m petite so I felt the loose sleeves really swallowed me up so I took in the sleeves by one inch and the dolman curve in by one and half inches and now I really love it!! I will be wearing this alot this winter because it matches perfectly with my momiform of black leggings :).
Overall, I am really happy with the box! I love having the surprise of a new fabric and pattern each month and I’m looking forward to next month’s box!
